Fellow membership

The highest category of IET membership you can apply for, we award Fellowship to the high achievers – those respected professionals at the forefront of engineering, technology, or cognate disciplines for at least five years or more.

We accept applications from both current IET Members and non-members.

Student membership

Available to students studying for an undergraduate level or postgraduate qualification in an engineering or technology related sector. We’re here to support members to achieve great things during their studies and beyond.

Apprentice membership

Membership is available to apprentices undertaking apprenticeship schemes in an engineering or technology related sector. We can boost your career with tips, tools and techniques you’ll use for life.

Armed Forces membership

We offer a discounted rate for Technician Members in the Armed Forces of £100. Standard fees apply to other categories.

Is your membership funded by your employer?

We’re delighted to work with over 500 corporate, academic and enterprise partners who fund IET membership for their employees. In most cases, you should apply for your membership and then seek reimbursement.
